COLMONOY No. 8 is a nickel-chromium-boron alloy recommended for hard surfacing parts to resist abrasion, corrosion and oxidation. Its high chromium (nominally 26%) contributes resistance to high-temperature oxidation and promotes the formation of chromium carbides for greater abrasion resistance. It is supplied as atomized powder for application with Wall Colmonoy's SPRAYWELD* and FUSEWELD* processes.
