View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF) Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.
Zirconia grain stabilized (ZGS) platinum alloys are widely used to contain molten glass, one of the most corrosive materials known to man. ZGS Platinum and ZGS 10% Rhodium-Platinum have been described in previous Alloy Digests (Pt. 2 of May, 1975 and Pt. 3 of March 1979). ZGS 5% Rhodium-Platinum was developed to provide a cheaper alloy than ZGS 10% Rhodium-Platinum alloy and yet having considerably higher high-temperature strength than ZGS Platinum. This group of three ZGS Platinum-base materials is manufactured in significant volumes, primarily to meet needs of the glass industry.
