CARPENTER STAINLESS No. 5-F is a modification of AISI Type 416 stainless steel and was designed for an optimum combination of machinability and corrosion resistance. It comprises a specially balanced analysis and is essentially non-hardenable. It is recommended for all screw-machine applications, particularly those involving intricate machining operations or where superior finishes are required as-machined. Its uses include valve trim, carburetor needles and many other screw-machine parts.
