CARPENTER 21-12N is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel for valves. It offers excellent high-temperature strength and hardness as well as corrosion resistance to combustion products. This alloy contains 0.15-0.25% nitrogen for increased high-temperature strength. It is widely used as the head material in two piece exhaust valves for both diesel and gasoline engines.
