Nitronic 20 was designed for elevated-temperature use where high mechanical strength and resistance to oxidation and sulfidation are important. This stainless steel exhibits high mechanical strength throughout the 1000-1700 F (538-927 C) temperature range, yet it is malleable at forging temperatures and provides excellent hot workability. Nitronic 20 also retains ductility and ambient temperatures; this permits working or shaping by many conventional cold-forming processes.
