CRUCIBLE 446 is a non-hardenable (ferritic) chromium stainless steel. It has the highest corrosion and heat-resisting properties of the straight chromium steels. It is magnetic at all times. Typical applications for CRUCIBLE 446 comprise heat-treating equipment, combustion chambers, oil-burner components, stack dampers and thermocouple protection tubes.
