This alloy is the most popular grade of the chrome-nickel stainless steels. The wide usage of D-28 is due primarily to its excellent corrosion resistance to many highly corrosive media and to its remarkably high resistance to impact which is maintained at sub-zero temperatures. It is similar to A.C.I. Type CF-8.
