AK Steel Type 305 has the advantage of economical fabrication. Its chief characteristics are minimum work-hardening tendencies and maximum ductility. The alloy is especially suited to operations involving severe cold work such as deep drawing and spinning. It can be annealed to greater softness than other 18Cr-8Ni types. Typical applications are tank heads, reflectors, and spun parts.
