Incoloy alloy 25-6Mo is superaustenitic, contains 6% Mo, and offers excellent corrosion resistance to neutral and acidic environments containing chlorides or other halides such as are found in air pollution control and flue gas desulfurization systems. The molybdenum and nitrogen content provide resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, while copper enhances resistance to sulfuric acid. The alloy is especially suited for service in high chloride environments such as brackish water, seawater, caustic chloride, and pulp mill bleach systems. This alloy is similar to Inco Alloy 25-6Mo (See Alloy Digest Ni-401) and supersedes it.
