View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF) Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.
PYROVAN is nominally a 5% chromium, air-hardening die steel with more carbon and vanadium than found in AISI Type H13. PYROVAN has improved wear resistance over conventional die steels. The optimum combination of alloying elements in this grade promotes a good balance of properties. It has excellent non-deforming characteristics and high hardenability. PYROVAN has a wide range of usable hardness and is ideally suited for numerous cold and hot-working applications.
