JESSOP BX3 is a highly-alloy tool steel designed for service in applications requiring extreme resistance to abrasion. This type of tool steel is the best available for abrasion-resistant properties. It is a high-hardenability (air-hardening), cold-work tool and die steel that can be quenched and tempered to very high hardness (as high as Rockwell C 65). Its many applications include dies of various types, brick mold liners, grinding-wheel molds and wear-resisting parts.
