HOTFORM No. 3 is a medium-carbon, air-hardening, cold-work die steel. It also is used in some applications as a hot-work tool and die steel. An excellent combination of high hardenability, good wear resistance and toughness makes Hotform No. 3 useful for special tools. Typical applications are blanking dies, cold-forming dies, punches and cold and hot shear blades.
