RED CUT SUPERIOR J is a tungsten-type of hot-work tool and die steel; in fact, it is the 18 tungsten-4 chromium-1 vanadium high-speed composition with carbon lowered to provide more toughness. It is characterized by high red hardness and good resistance to abrasion. It is recommended for applichations in which hardness must be maintained at elevated temperatures.
