CARPENTER O6 is an oil-hardening tool steel for cold-work applications. It is designed to have free graphite in the microstructure. This free graphite is responsible for the excellent machinability of this grade. Among the many applications of Carpenter O6 are dies for various uses, punches, gages, bushings, mandrels, pneumatic hammers, stamps, taps, rotary slitting cutters and wear plates.
