Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.

Tg 27 Zinc Alloy is a zinc-aluminum-copper high-strength foundry alloy that is well suited to structural applications, once the exclusive domain of malleable and cast iron, bronzes and aluminum. Tg 27 offers an as-sand-cast tensile strength of 58,000 to 64,000 psi at modest costs; also, it can be cast in cold-chamber machines for better properties than those of conventional die-casting alloys. It is extremely resistant to galling because it has natural lubricity and is thus well suited to bearing and bushing applications. Tg 27 performs best in thin-walled castings; this contributes to reduced weight and lower material costs when castings are redesigned for this alloy.
