Zirconium alloys are extremely corrosion resistant. They are expensive, but in some cases are superior in corrosion performance to stainless steels, nickel alloys, and titanium. The largest application for zirconium castings is handling hydrochloric acid. Grade 702C is one of the common casting grades.
