Applies to the construction, installation, operation, inspection, and maintenance of slings for lifting purposes, made from alloy steel chain, sewn synthetic webbing, wire rope, metal mesh, and synthetic fiber rope used in conjunction with equipment described in other volumes of the B30 Standard, except as specified in ANSI/ASME B30.12. Slings made from materials or constructions other than those detailed in this volume shall be used only in accordance with recommendations of the sling manufacturer. ASME WILL PROVIDE NO ADDENDA SERVICE FOR THIS STANDARD.
