This Part establishes the requirements for preservice and inservice testing to assess the operational readiness of certain closed cooling water systems (CCWS) used in LWR power plants. The CCWS covered are those required to perform a specific function in shutting down a reactor to the safe shutdown condition, in maintaining the safe shutdown condition, or in mitigating the consequences of an accident. This Part establishes test methods, test intervals, parameters to be measured and evaluated, acceptance criteria, corrective actions, and record requirements.
