1.1 This specification covers a group of common requirements that, unless otherwise specified in the applicable product specification, apply to wire rod for bridge cable wire.
1.2 This specification is applied to wire rod with a nominal diameter of 11.0 mm [7/16 in.] to 16.0 mm [5/8 in.] intended for use in bridge cable wire.
1.3 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with this specification.
