1.1 This specification covers hot-rolled carbon steel sheet and strip of commercial quality, in coils and cut lengths, having a maximum carbon of 0.15%. This material is intended for parts where bending, moderate forming or drawing, and welding may be involved.

1.2 This specification is not applicable to the steel covered by Specification A635/A635M.

1.3 The values stated in either acceptable metric units (SI) or in inch-pound units shall be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other, without combining values in any way.
