This document provides general guidelines for the development and validation of software for use in the telecommunications industry as it applies to interconnected switching/signaling nodes. The document includes telecommunications service provider requirements, manufacturer software validation criteria, manufacturer product implementation, manufacturer product testing, manufacturer product deployment, and telecommunications service provider testing/deployment. Where applicable, this document may address NGN aspects.
