This method is applicable to the determination of the MCS stabilizer solids concentration in EL2 treated wood and wood treatment solutions using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The operational procedures described in this standard were written for a Perkin Elmer Spectrum One FTIR but similar instruments with equivalent capabilities are available from other manufacturers, and may be used. When using a different instrument, procedures that are operationally equivalent should be employed.
