This method is designed exclusively for determining the penetration of oil-soluble organic biocides in wood where the wood has been treated with the oil-soluble organic biocide dissolved in Hydrocarbon Solvent Type A (AWPA Standard HSA) and penetration is not obvious.
The penetration of oil-soluble organic biocides dissolved in Hydrocarbon Solvent Type A should first be judged by visual examination without staining.
