This specification establishes qualification recommendations for Welding Sales Representatives.

This specification defines the qualities necessary for a Welding Sales Representative to perform their job in a manner to benefit the employer, the customer, and the welding industry. The service rendered by the Welding Sales Representative is crucial to the proper application of welding. This specification defines the proficiency necessary for the Welding Sales Representative to adequately represent the company, to adequately represent the products the company sells, and to provide the technical support the customer requires.

In the implementation of the specification the employer should review the recommendations detailed by this standard and incorporate the recommendations in the company hiring practice or the company employee development process. The employer is responsible for verifying that the Welding Sales Representative is qualified to perform the duties and tasks assigned the welding sales representative.
