This specification establishes welding equipment requirements, materials preparation, and preproduction and production requirements for acceptable welds in coated and uncoated, low-carbon, medium carbon, and low-alloy, high strength steels. These requirements are the minimum acceptable for resistance spot, seam, and projection welding of assemblies. This standard makes use of both the International System of Units (SI) and U.S. Customary Units. The measurements are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other with combining values in any way. SI Units are listed first and U.S. Customary Units are listed second in parenthesis ( ) when used in the text.
