This is a case study on the analysis of a specific size water meter (1 1/2 inch) within a large metropolitan water utility (population greater than 100,000). The objectives were to determine: the meter registration tendencies; sizing of meters for reuse of existing properties; revenue gains by implementation of the replacement program; and, development of a database for future data development. The results indicated a potential annual revenue gain of over $1 million, without raising water rates. Includes reference, tables, figure.
