This brief two-page paper is mainly a discussion of determining whether and to what extent endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are removed from source water during drinking water treatment processes. The paper mentions the City of Phoenix, Arizona is planning to build a water treatment plant, called Lake Pleasant Treatment
Facility, that will include chlorine dioxide, ballasted flocculation, ozone, anthracite biofilters, granular activated carbon (GAC)
adsorbers, and ultraviolet irradiation, and will be assessed for its potential to remove various EDCs.
