The research objectives of this slide presentation were to:
evaluate ultraviolet (UV) and UV oxidation treatment for
degradation of three endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) and subsequent
formation of byproducts;
develop information on degradation kinetics and
hydroxyl radical rate constants for each compound
tested;
assess changes in toxicity pre- and post- UV
treatment (on-going); and,
identify and assess the toxicity of each major UV
byproduct (on-going). Topics covered include: UV treatment technology/experimental overview;
bioanalytical assays review;
effectiveness of UV for EDC treatment; and,
modeling UV treatment.
