This study primarily focuses arsenic removal performance of commercially
available iron-based sorbents: GFH and E33, iron-aluminum based AAFS-50. Rapid small-scale
column tests (RSSCTs) were used to evaluate the performance using groundwater of Arizona. Comparison of the breakthrough curves of full-scale and RSSCTs
suggests that RSSCTs simulated full-scale systems reasonably well. The breakthrough
curves of silica, total phosphorus, and total vanadium were also monitored and presented
for GFH, E33 and AAFS-50 in this study. Includes 11 references, table, figures.
