This slide presentation provides graphs on reducing peak month demand by the North Marin Water District. Their conservation program has been to
provide information, such as individual water use
charts included in the Waterline newsletter, along
with aggressively promoted water conservation
programs, such as "cash for grass", requiring Energy
Star washing machines in all new construction, and
low flow toilets upon resale.
They now propose to focus on a small group of high
water users, asking them to reduce consumption or
be subject to a conservation incentive rate that will,
over time, be equivalent to paying an additional
connection (entitlement) fee.
