The objective of this study presented in a slide presentation format was to evaluate the
formation of biofilm on the sand surface and to
study its effects for HAA removals. The study area was in Kin-Men County, on mainland China. Topics covered include: water quality in study area; treatment processes included
conventional treatments with slow sand
filtration; HAAs in water treatment processes; HAA formation in treatment
trains, cases in Kin-Men County; laboratory filtration
tests for HAA removal; biofilm formation on sand surface; HAAs removal in simulated SSF; MCAA removal in batch biodegradation tests; DCAA removal in batch biodegradation tests; and, TCAA removal in batch biodegradation tests. Includes 6 references, tables, figures.
