This slide presentation begins by outlining the Florida Water Conservation Initiative and how the Conserve Florida program grew out of the Statewide Water Conservation Program. Conserve Florida program elements include:
standardized definitions and performance
measures (March 2005);
development of the water conservation web-
based guidance document (May 31, 2006); and,
water conservation clearinghouse (May 2006). The presentation focuses on the development of a web-based guidance document to serve as a technical tool to aid in the development of
utility-specific, goal-based water conservation
programs, including:
a process to develop a utility water use profile;
a process to develop water conservation goals;
a process to select BMPs to achieve the goals; a process to evaluate performance; a process to report results;
a process to adjust the program to improve results; and,
an economic tool to help utilities develop cost-effective
conservation programs. Includes tables.
