This powerpoint presentation attempts to identify the problems associated with adding manufacturers after specifications have been developed, demonstrate how to modify a bad Bid Form, maintaining engineer and owner control, and present a real life project that the manufacturers got thrown under the bus and how it hurt the engineer in the long run. Recommendations include: have "me too" manufactures develop drawing and calculation submittal package to be evaluated prior to the bid; and,
"want to be" named manufacturers should be required to review the specification line by line and make comments as to any discrepancies and explain the differences.
