This slide presentation outlines the development of the Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE), whose purpose combines these elements: Mission Statement is to Promote the Efficient and Sustainable Use of Water;
Information, Web-based clearinghouse;
Research, evaluation and testing of products practices and standards;
Advocate for water efficiency standards and policies; and,
Education on the big picture and training for professionals. Its initial project involved a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for $335,000 for the purpose of:
Creating an Information Clearinghouse on programs and products;
News, including electronic newsletter;
Involve AWE in Codes, Standards and Green Building Work; and,
Launch AWE Web Site. The presentation lists the specific work activities for AWE's first two years.
