This powerpoint presentation presents a hypothetical situation of a tropical storm hitting the coastline of British Columbia near Vancouver, thus increasing the turbidity of Seymour Lake which is part of the water supply for the city of Vancouver. Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) water supply factors are listed, along with historical statistics for November rainfall at Seymour Dam. A chain of events for the hypothetical situation is provided, and topics outlined include: a daily report of information; laboratory results; communications (key players); media and the public; lessons learned; Seymour-Capilano Filtration Plant - main treatment plant summary; filtration plant design criteria; diagram of plant layout; and, sustainable design features.
