The project objectives of this powerpoint presentation were to
cease discharge of lime residuals, and reduce filter backwash chlorine residual to 0.43
mg/L at a water treatment plant in Topeka, Kansas. Project drivers led to design-build
implementation, limited space drove mechanical dewatering
alternatives, performance parameters are given, press plates were constructed of polypropylene and covered with a
filter cloth, tow-phase softening solids, particle size distribution, frozen softening solids, and CCH Mitigation Measures are all outlined. Includes figures.
