This slide presentation begins by providing background information on the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and the creation of the Business Development Group in FY '02 to develop new sources of revenue. The strategic objective was to fill the GAP between
approved rate increases
and actual cost/inflation
increases. Legislation was required to allow a non-profit organization to raise revenues, statistics are given for revenues generated from
FY'02 to FY'06, along with revenue sources, billing audit, antenna leases, surplus property sales, lab services, and military base utility systems.
