This powerpoint presentation presents a study on the use of a sandwich immunoassay to detect C. parvum. Experiments demonstrated that the enhancement effect of RBITC increases with increasing gold particle diameters between 14 and 50 nm. A proof of concept experiment was conducted to demonstrate that the immunogold can be used as a detection technique for C. parvum. An X-Y sample stage was employed to map Raman spectra on the surface of the membrane filter. Immunofilters can simultaneously capture and concentrate antigens of interest. Future work includes the expansion of this assay to a multi-pathogen detection technique. Numerous Raman active dyes exist with their own distinctive Raman fingerprints. Includes figures.
