This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Columbus (Georgia) Water Works (CWW) and how it leveraged AwwaRF Project
"Strategic Planning and Organization
Development" to update its strategic direction. CWW used six Strategy Teams to
implement its plan and modified its organization to
emphasize plan implementation. The Sustainable Workforce Strategy
Team included employee engagement in
their plan, and presents Employee Engagement Strategies,
Sources, and Resources. The CWW plan of action included:
providing results from the 2007
survey to all department managers;
conducting follow-up interviews with the
managers of the departments with
opportunities for improvement;
conducting focus group meetings in the
departments with opportunities for
improvement;
consolidating feedback and providing a
summary report to the Senior Staff; and,
conducting a second survey in July 2008.
