This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA) and the Total Coliform Rule (TCR)/Distribution Systems (DS) Advisory Committee. The major objectives of the TCR/DS Advisory Committee were to provide advice and recommendations on the following:
how the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) should revise the TCR while maintaining or improving
public health protection; and,
what data should be collected, research conducted, and/or risk management
strategies evaluated to better inform distribution system contaminant
occurrence and associated public health risks. Issues and state
perspectives are listed.
