This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the global water crisis and the Total Water Management (TWM) Concept. Examples of TWM are presented, including the following:
water scarcity - Atlanta;
drinking water quality - distribution systems;
climate change - Colorado River;
ecosystems - Apalachicola Bay; and,
surface-groundwater - South Platte River. Presentation conclusions indicate the following:
TWM has powerful potential;
principles are valid worldwide;
water problems call for TWM approach;
policy and process can move toward TWM;
water leaders can promote TWM; and,
AWWA can lead in TWM advocacy.
