This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting a brief overview of a 285-acre spray
irrigation facility that will be decommissioned for treatment
of municipal wastewater in June 2008. New wastewater pump station was constructed, and
MOA allows identification of alternative uses of site such as
reuse and reclamation,
land application, and
treatment of water treatment plant waste streams. Wrenn Road is located less than 5 miles from
new 20 mgd D.E. Benton WTP. Phased construction at WTP changes
potential uses for Wrenn Road. Wrenn Road spray irrigation evaluation
approach is presented, along with waste stream characterization findings, an agronomic evaluation that focused on
sedimentation blowdown and DAF solids, and alternative crop required to accommodate
application of residuals. Four residuals management alternatives were
evaluated and included the following: sedimentation in lagoons with
dredging every 1.5 years; spray irrigation of raw
sedimentation blowdown; pre-settling in gravity
thickener; and, pre-settling in gravity
thickener and dewatering
with belt filter press. Includes tables.
