This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Monroe Township Municipal Utilities Authority
(MTMUA) located in central New Jersey. A shortage of nonpotable water supply is an issue for MTMUA, and a study process for selecting alternatives is presented. Alternatives identified include: groundwater; stream diversion and storage; rainwater harvesting; storm water; instream impoundments; effluent reuse at wastewater treatment plants; and, sewer mining. Limited non-potable with satellite treatment,
using groundwater only to fill new storage, and with potable
water treatment was the preferred alternative. Competing objectives include the following: environmental; technical; financial considerations; and, community impacts. Includes figures.
