This poster paper describes new approaches to overcome the analytical difficulties
described. Advances in the characterization of the chemical constituents of
the mixed oxidant solutions are presented and the analytical strategies
proposed include the following:
radical species (OH radicals and ClO<sub>2</sub>) determination using Electron
Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR);
oxyhalides determination in mixed oxidant solution using ion
chromatography (IC); and,
disinfection byproduct (DBP) determination in chlorinated water for the indirect measurement of
oxidant species other than chlorine.
