area and the inclusion of one or two coastal resorts, along with a new 0.6 mgd capacity desalination plant that will supply the near-term
water needs of city. The treatment approach selected for
simplified permitting is presented, along with Department of Public Health Permitting, pathogen removal, ultraviolet (UV) validation, environmental permitting, intake approach, brine outfall approach, energy efficiency, and projected operating costs for
