This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the issue of dealing with zebra and quagga mussels over a vast
area with multiple jurisdictions, state agencies, federal
agencies, private industry and partners. The Western Regional Panel in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Regional Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Coordinators developed the Quagga/Zebra
Action Plan (QZAP) to highlight the high priority actions
and resources needed to address the introduction
and spread of quagga and zebra mussels in
western North America in order to protect native
species and water delivery infrastructure. Immediate high priority
actions are listed, along with long-term actions and needs.
