This paper discusses how to run an effective education committee, based on the author's experience with the Ontario Section. The Ontario Section tends to be highly organized and structured with a tradition of volunteerism. The keys to a successful education program are attention to general membership needs, commitment to quality, and dedicated committee members. Committee staffing--composition, size, and recruiting--are briefly discussed. Committee operation, including guiding principles and practical guidelines, are given. Ideas for programs are not given, but the author discusses where the committee looks for ideas. Typical workshops and seminars are listed.
