The author has designed prestressed concrete pipe and investigated prestressed concrete pipeline deterioration involving inspecting the interior of pipelines, examining the exterior of piping in-situ, removing pipes from pipelines and stripping off component materials, performance-testing removed pipe, and test and examining the component materials. The purpose of this paper is to highlight a few of the conclusions drawn from these investigations which directly apply to designing and specifying prestressed concrete pressure pipe.
