The goal of the Pacific Northwest Section AWWA Compliance Support Program is to supply technical assistance to small water systems currently in danger of becoming significantly out of compliance with new provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Five organizations are involved in the effort. The section will provide technical experts to help the small water systems. The Oregon Health Division will refer small systems in trouble to the AWWA committee. The EPA Region X will provide resources. The Oregon Association of Water Agencies, which is affiliated with the National Rural Water Association, will contribute resources already in place, such as circuit riders. The major stumbling block is finding funding to support the program.
