Water treatment processes controlled by modern automated control and SCADA systems require metering pumps compatible to control system response, accuracy, and range. Application of a new type of advanced variable speed metering pump has shown that many of the problems associated with applying old metering pump technology to advanced control systems are eliminated. The optimum control of dosage provided when the control system is mated to the correct metering device ensures stringent water treatment regulations are met and chemical costs are minimized.
